Class Descriptions
Sunday Open Sew - $65/2-months or $20session.
Open Sew is an opportunity to come and join a group of other sewing enthusiasts in our classroom for some sew-time. Bring your machine and any projects that interest you and make use of our spacious classroom space and accomodations to have some fun sewing. Join for two months at a time or pay as you go. Open Sew is open to all sewing enthusiasts 18 or over.
Sundays 10am-2pm, First Sunday of the month 10-4 (potluck Sunday)
Teen Sew Tuesdays - $75/month*.
First 4 Tuesday evenings of the monthOpen to all students (10 years and up). This is an unstructured, supervised sewing experience. Pre-selected projects are available or students can work with the instructor to select a project of their own choosing. Teens bring their sewing machines (discount machines available for purchase with any Teen Sew registration) and supplies then work with the teacher to enhance their sewing skills while sharing their passion for sewing with other teens.
Tuesdays 6:30-8pm
2010 Bali Beautiful Block of the Month- $35 registration, $5/kit/mo
Jan 2010-Dec 2010 come learn a bit about quilting as you pick-up your blocks each month and work on this wonderful quilt made of beautiful bali batiks and bali inspired fabrics. Two colorways to choose from, Autumn and Spring.
2nd Saturday of the Month, 9am
Free Motion Sewing on SILK
Free motion sewing can take time but the results are worth the effort. Diane Loomis returns to show you some great techinques for sewing on silk fabrics. Silk is beautiful but slippery, it easily shifts, puckers and runs if not handled correctly. Learn how to get stunning results without having to give up the beauty of this great fabric.

Husqvarna Viking Designer SE - Programming Stitches
Bring in your Designer SE and follow along as we explorehow to make use of the built-in memory features of your sewing machine to create great stitch sequences.
Saturday 1/23, 2-4pm
Sewing Basics - $40/2-session class*.
Get back to basics in this class as we'll reintroduce you to the fundamentals of good sewing. From making a clean cut, laying out a pattern, clipping curves, to overcasting and blind hems. This two session class is a great way to start sewing or revisit the basics of good garment and home dec sewing skills. Perfect for everyone.
Thursdays 2/18 & 26, 3-5pm
Another Sweatshirt Jacket
It's time for another sweathsirt jacket. This one will help you transform your jacket into a stunning coat. We'll be adding a colar and cuffs and so much more during this two session class based on the book by D. Quartermain.
Wednesdays 2/3 & 2/10, 3-5pm
Quilt Bascis - $60 for 4-session class*
For the new quilter and the experienced quilter looking for a refresher, this one month long program will cover a different quilting/piecing technique each week as you create a four block sampler from the techniques and patterns used to reinforce good quilting practices.
Tuesdays 2/16, 2/23, 3/2, 2-4pm
Quilt As You Go - Quilt in a day
Fast and fun way to create a quilt in a day. Use your sewing machine or your serger and you'll be done before you know it. Learn how it's done and then jump right in!
Saturday 1/30, 10-11 class, 11-4 Open Sew
Scrap Therapy
A new bi-monthly sewing experience. The cutting clinic will help your attach your stash. Learn how to create manageable stacks of fabrics duringthe cutting clinic. We'll cut, sort and organize our scraps for use in future projects. Then every other month we'll have a new project, and a hands-on workshop, for you to use up your scraps. Each
project/class will include a demo/lecture on the tools and techniques used in the pattern to help you jump-start your project. You will have the option to choose from a small project or a quilt each session. Join us for the year and watch your scraps disappear!
Cutting Clinic (pre-requisite) - TBA

Pocketbook Class- $35 for 2-sessions*
Join us for another great pocketbook class. This time we'll be working on big bag, adding some grommets and a drawstring closure with the appeal of a backpack and the beauty of a handmade purse. This one will have everyone clammering for one of their own.
Friday 2/12 & 2/26, 3-6
A New York Beauty
The NY Beauty may look hard, but with some foundation piecing, and pre-marked foundation fabrics, these stunning results are within your grasp. Come learn about the amazing results available through foundation piecing. Don't feel like doing it the hard way? then use your embroidery unit to get stunning results without the foundation work. Tuition discount for Embroidery Club members.
